Fresh off another successful stint playing for the New York Empire, Neal Skupski continued his solid play this weekend to take home the Nordic Naturals Challenger in Aptos, California with Jonathan Erlich of Israel.

Erlich and Skupski were seeded third, and clawed their way back from a set down to take a 6-7(3), 6-4 [10-4] win over the Belgian pairing of Ruben Bemelmans and Joris De Loore in the semifinals.

In the final, they took on Australian fourth seeds Alex Bolt and Jordan Thompson. They withstood a strong second set comeback to take the Nordic Naturals Challenger title with a 6-3, 2-6 [10-8] victory.

As a result of his win this week, Skupski’s ranking puts him in contention to qualify him for the US Open Men’s Doubles Draw.
