Genie’s out, but Mardy’s in!
The New York Empire, presented by Citi, announced on Tuesday that Genie Bouchard will miss her match against the Orange County Breakers on Thursday, July 26, due to an injury she suffered while playing in the Swiss Open.
The Empire have three home matches left this season. Former American No. 1 Mardy Fish will headline for New York on Wednesday, July 25, against the Springfield Lasers, and on Thursday, July 26, against the reigning WTT champions Orange County Breakers.
The Empire close out the 2018 World TeamTennis season on Thursday, August 2, against the Philadelphia Freedoms. All matches begin at 7 p.m.
